  • How it works
Like DSL, our Broadband Anywhere is an asymmetrical service, meaning that proportionally more bandwidth is allocated to downstream traffic than to upstream traffic. Your internet connection is “always-on”, 24x7. Downstream speeds, which affect the viewing of web pages or the downloading of files, are engineered for speeds up to more than 384 Kbps. The upstream speed is currently capped at 128 Kbps, however future upgrades will allow higher speeds. AerialOne also offers 750 Kbps and 1 Mbps services, and can offer custom service plans with download speeds of up to 4 Mbps. Our new MOBILE SATELLITE DISH can be placed on almost any vehicle. As with any Internet connection, actual speeds will vary based on usage and traffic patterns and will at certain times be faster than other times. If you would like a more technical understanding of our satellite Internet service Please contact us for your project needs. Satellite Broadband Anywhere product is powered by DiRECWAY, using award winning equipment from Hughes at the customers premises. Hughes (owners of DiRECWAY) provides the space segment and underlying service through its teleport and network facilities and through the Galaxy 11 and Galaxy 4R satellites operated by PamAmSat, as well as the SATMEX5 satellite. DiRECWAY-Powered Broadband Anywhere service is not the same service that DirecPC sells to consumers. To insure fair access to bandwidth and maintain QoS, Hughes has devised an efficient system of bandwidth allocation. This system assures the agreed upon performance at all times for all users by adjusting the bandwidth allocation. • Transportable Fixed FAQ
QUESTION: Can anyone install the Mobile broadband? ANSWER: Not really. The Mobile broadband is fairly complicated and quite heavy. A professional installer has the tools and resources to put the dish in place. Each Mobile broadband comes with a detailed installation manual that will guide the installer through hardware and software installation. The cost includes basic installation. QUESTION: How does the dish find the satellite? ANSWER: The dish is on a completely motorized and computer controlled. One button starts it in action and it finds and locks to the satellite automatically. QUESTION: Is the dish transmission a danger? ANSWER: No. Transmission strength is about 1 Watt, (a cell phone is .8 watts). And being on top of the rig, it is not an issue. QUESTION: Can I be traveling down the road and be online at the same time? ANSWER: No. You must be parked. In-Motion 2-Way satellite transmission will not be approved for many years to come. But we find that this is not a major problem with many who are seeking Internet Connectivity in a mobile environment. QUESTION: How does weather affect the dish? ANSWER: It would have to be a heavy wind or rain to affect usability of the Mobile broadband. The Mobile broadband will detect sever rocking, such as heavy winds, and will stow the dish. Transmission will be suspended if signal quality dips below 31, which is rare. QUESTION: What happens if the dish is buried in snow? ANSWER: There is an option to provide more power to the motors to compensate for the weight of extra snow on the dish. If this doesn't work, you will have to get on top of the rig and sweep off the snow.
